Charlotte Tilbury is a name synonymous with glamour, red carpets and luxury.
Built by the makeup artist to the stars, Charlotte Tilbury, her makeup line was always going to succeed.
Armed with the knowledge to turn any woman into a screen siren, it consists of skincare and makeup that adds a touch of glamour for us mere mortals.
Charlotte Tilbury is a luxury brand but the prices for her products are affordable enough to get one or two treats.
My sister very kindly gifted me some money for my birthday last year, so I decided to buy something I had been lusting after for ages but didn’t have the finances for myself.
Don’t you love that kind of present?
I’d always wanted to try some Charlotte Tilbury products, and since my favourite makeup pieces are always lipsticks, I knew this would be a good introduction to the brand.
The Covent Garden branch of Charlotte Tilbury is just opposite the tube station and practically harkens beauty lovers everywhere to its doors.
I asked the sales assistant for a good deep red that suited my skin tone, and after some swatching, she helped me to choose the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Red Carpet and the lip liner in Kiss ‘n’ Tell.
The lipstick in the shade Red Carpet Red is a gorgeous deep red that suits my medium skin tone.
It’s got a berry hint to it without being too orange-red which tends to wash me out.
I would call it a true red and it’s incredibly flattering when I wear it out.
It glides on really easily, and being a matte colour, stays on the lips pretty much the whole day, and fades evenly when eating and drinking.
The lip liner or lip cheat as Charlotte says is in the shade Kiss ‘n’ Tell and looks like a cherry red, but is just a hint deeper than an orange-red.
It glides on smoothly and when paired with the Red Carpet lipstick, stays on the whole day.
The lipstick Red Carpet Red is priced at £24.00 and the lip cheat in Kiss ‘n’ Tell is priced at £16.00.
Glamour comes at a price, and I think this is a great way to add an injection of va va voom into your makeup kit.
Personally, I save these products for special occasions simply because of the price point and secondly the colours are so dramatic I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing them on an everyday basis.
And the best thing is they’re cruelty-free so if that’s something you’re concerned about like me, you can add this to the list of brands you can buy from!
